Lady Gaga Stuck in a Sticky Legal Situation

Lady Gaga finds herself in all sorts of sticky situations.

But the million-dollar lawsuit she's currently stuck in the middle of may be even more odd and stoke more flames than her blood-soaked VMA performance.

Here are the essential details of Gaga's legal drama ...

• An Irish entertainment company called "Grooveyard" claims they were looking to book talent for a couple of October concerts in Belfast and Dublin.
• Naturally, they struck a deal with a New York City-based company claiming to rep Lady Gaga, paying $320,000 to book the possible hermaphrodite.
• Naturally, the dude who cashed check may not even rep Gaga. Grooveyard claims after they began promoting Lady Gaga, AEG Live hit them with a cease and desist letter, stating that AEG alone has authority to book Gaga.

Lady Gaga is so hot these days, people will pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to people who just claim they represent her and don't actually deliver the Gaga.

The company is therefore rather upset, confused, and demanding their money back in a million-dollar lawsuit filed in New York State yesterday afternoon.

The moral of the story?

Don't shell out $320,000 to someone claiming to rep a star.

Unless you know for a fact that such an enormous sum of money is going to result in Lady Gaga nude or darn close to it on stage, just sit tight a little longer.

Michael Jackson Documentary Release Date, Details

The worldwide premiere of the film documenting the King of Pop's preparation for his comeback tour that he died before he could embark on, is set for October 27.

The This Is It film event will be supplemented by a new single from the late Michael Jackson, also entitled "This Is It," scheduled to be released on October 12.

A two-disc album by the same name will come out October 27.

Regarding the new single, "This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows - that Michael is one of God's greatest gifts," said John McClain, co-producer of the album and co-executor of the superstar's estate.

The first disc will feature the original masters of Michael's greatest hits arranged in the same order as they appear in the film, ending with the new "This Is It."

The new song features the Jackson brothers on backing vocals.

Disc two offers unreleased versions of his classic tracks, including a spoken word poem from Michael entitled "Planet Earth." It also includes a 36-page commemorative booklet with exclusive pictures of his last rehearsal.

It's hard to blame the estate for trying to cash in on the overwhelming interest in and popularity of Michael Jackson's music in the wake of his tragic death, but at this rate, This Is It should be renamed "This Is Overkill."

Jennifer Aniston: Pregnant! (In Her Dreams, According to OK!)

Just when you think OK! Magazine can't lower the bar any further, the fabled celebrity gossip supermarket tabloid establishes a new standard of hilarity.

According to this fine publication, Jennifer Aniston is pregnant! What great news!

Too bad there's not a single fact that would remotely suggest this, nor is she even in a relationship. Besides, everyone knows she's going to die alone.

According to OK!, Jen has never hidden that her biological clock is ticking since she turned 40 in February. Understandable, as that's pretty near death.

“I feel [motherhood is] in my future and I’m on the verge of it in some way,” the Love Happens star said in recent months. “I want to have children."

Jen's "baby dream" is coming true. What that is? No one knows.

Becoming a parent has quickly become a high priority for the actress, who has scheduled several months off before starting her next project in 2010.

At least according to a celebrity gossip magazine that cites made-up sources who have surely never even spoken to her. They're made up, after all.

“Jen’s made no secret of the fact she wants to get pregnant,” says one such source. “Now, with nothing on her schedule for a while, she can finally relax and address priorities that matter most. Motherhood is at the top of her list."

“She wants to have a baby soon,” adds another Aniston insider.

Someone should probably tell her that. If she's not too busy picking out what to wear to the wedding of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, that is.

Karina Smirnoff: Nude for PETA

Having broken up with Maksim Chmerkovskiy this summer, Karina Smirnoff is now free to flirt, go on dates and show off her naked body to pretty much anyone.

Case in point: the Dancing with the Stars professional in the latest in a long line of random celebrities to don her birthday suit in a PETA campaign against fur. (Season nine contestant Joanna Krupa has also bared it all for the same cause.)

"I did wear fur, especially when I was growing up in the Ukraine," Smirnoff said, adding that she ceased sporting it when she watched footage of baby seals who were killed for their skins.

It's terrible "when we take advantage of an innocent animal that cannot defend herself," Karina said. "There are ways of being warm and being fashionable without being cruel."

That's true. There are also ways of getting this message across, PETA, without wasting millions on these ad campaigns. Perhaps you should actually save troubled animals with that cash instead.

We hadn't heard much from The Circus Starring Britney Spears in so long, we were starting to wonder if its ridiculous outfits, lip-synched tracks and wardrobe malfunctions had ceased to exist. We are pleased to say we were wrong.

Paparazzi Pair Sue Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen Over Alleged Wedding Shooting

Tom Brady likes operating out of the shotgun on the football field. Gisele Bundchen's bodyguards seem to like operating them as well - against paparazzi.

That's the allegation of a federal lawsuit by a couple of celebrity gossip photographers who claim they were under fire - literally - from her security team.

The men claim they were shot at while attempting to cover the sexy pair's April wedding. Who says everyone who works in gossip just sits around in PJs?

Echoing allegations made at the time of the soiree, Yuri Cortes and Rolando Aviles claim that they were shaken down by Tom and Gisele's security detail.

After managing to escape, the photographers fled in their SUV.

They look so nice. But step back or they'll have you SHOT!!!!!!

That's when the guards opened fire, allegedly, which blew out the car's back window and "narrowly missed striking" the celebrity gossip photographers.

Sounds like a pretty traumatic experience, and forwhat purpose? Not even a glimpse of Gisele Bundchen nude is worth that. Well, probably not anyway.

The photographers and their fellow plaintiff, the Agence France-Presse, are seeking at least $1 million in damages. Tom and Gisele had no comment.

In other news involving NFL stars and shootings, Plaxico Burress, late of the New York Giants, was handed a two-year prison sentence today. Ouch.

Andrew Young: John Edwards Knocked Up Rielle Hunter, Said Dave Matthews Would Play at Wedding

The former John Edwards aide who claimed it was he, not the former U.S. Senator and presidential hopeful, who knocked up Rielle Hunter in 2007, now says in a book proposal obtained by the New York Times that Edwards is the father.

Andrew Young says he and Edwards worked with his campaign finance chairman to hide that secret, and he helped facilitate the affair between John and Rielle.

According to the newspaper, Young wrote that Edwards told Hunter they would get married after Edwards' wife, who has terminal breast cancer, passed away.

Edwards told Hunter that the ceremony would be held on a rooftop in New York and the Dave Matthews Band would make an appearance, the Times said.

Because Dave Matthews has nothing better to do than to play a wedding for a disgraced politician marrying his baby mama after his first wife just died.

In May, federal investigators began looking into how John Edwards used campaign funds, which he may have used as hush money to buy off Rielle Hunter.

Edwards adamantly denied last summer that he had fathered a child with Hunter, though he initially denied the affair just as adamantly until he was busted.

Edwards says the affair with Hunter ended in 2006. Andrew Young said in 2007 he was the child's father. Hunter said around the same time that Young was the father and the birth certificate does not list a father's name.

In 2006, Edwards' political action committee paid Hunter's video production firm $100,000 for work. She filmed four web videos for his campaign website.

Then the committee paid another $14,086 on April 1, 2007. Edwards has said the latter payment wa for 100 hours of unused videotape Rielle Hunter shot.

Not only did John Edwards have a mistress, he may have paid her off.

The same day, the Edwards presidential campaign had injected $14,034.61 into the PAC for a "furniture purchase," according to federal election records.

Andrew Young, who fell off the face of the earth after admitting paternity, is thought to be rolling over on Edwards after being forced to testify under oath.

He recently signed a book deal with St. Martin's Press. There was a confidentiality agreement, and how the Times obtained the proposal is unknown.

Do Not Mess with Taylor Swift!

Taylor Swift was making the media rounds Friday promoting her single "You Belong With Me" (which is #1), her album going platinum, and all that good stuff.

Naturally, though, all attention remains on the Kanye incident.

During her interview with the MJ Morning Show on Tampa Bay's 93.3, FM, she made her desire not to talk about Kanye Weset very clear. Not that it helped.

The first time the host asked her to describe what happened that fateful VMA night, Taylor explained: "I'm just honestly trying not to make it into a bigger deal than it already is ... I just would like to move on maybe a little bit."

Fair enough. Or not. "Do you think it was a scripted thing?" the host asked.

"Well... you know, I um... I didn't know what to think, but I think that we should maybe move on and talk about something else, because, um, I've talked about this in one interview, and that was going to be it," Taylor awkwardly said.

Taylor Swift is ready to move on from the VMAs.

Still not taking the freaking hint, the rude radio host proceeded to ask if Kanye-gate was good for her career or if the rapper's apology was sincere.

"I really would appreciate it if we could talk about something else," Taylor Swift said, again. "I've asked you three times, and I'm trying to be nice."

More bullying followed, with the host saying, "Taylor, let me give you a couple of tips ..." But then, Swift walked away and her publicist took over!

A minor spat ensued, and MJ revealed his last question: "Do you think Kanye West has a mental problem?" Suffice it to say, that went unanswered.

In summation, no one messes with T-Swizzle. She is awesome. Step off.

Carrie Prejean: Chosen By God

Speaking at the Values Voters Summit in Washington Friday, the former Miss California Carrie Prejean suggested that “God had a plan for me that day” when she voiced her opinion on gay marriage ... during the 2009 Miss USA contest.

Yes. God told her to voice opposition to same sex marriage, at a beauty pageant, on national television. He works in mysterious ways sometimes.

Carrie Prejean asked during the contest by judge and openly gay celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton if she supports gay marriage. She does not.

Her answer ultimately led to so much controversy that people forget she did not actually win Miss USA (she was second to Kristen Dalton of N.C.).

Reflecting on Friday, Prejean, who was later stripped of her title of Miss California USA because God told her to she flaked on her contract, said “I’m so proud of the answer that I gave. God chose me for that moment.”

“I was a woman who stood up for the truth and people don’t want to admit it,” she continued. “I had the courage and bravery that a lot of people don’t have.”

“I am not defeated, they have not defeated me. They can say whatever they want about me and my faith,” Carrie Prejean said in praise of herself. “I always wanted to leave a legacy of courage and boldness and to show that to young people.”

The 22-year-old went on to thank her “thousands of fans who believe in me, and saw me as more than a beauty pageant girl.” Yes, so much more than that.

At the Miss USA pageant, Prejean told Hilton, “We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. I think that in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman.”

“No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Well, Stephen Colbert has it all figured out.

Last December, the Comedy Central figure launched Operation: Humble Kanye in an effort to knock the celeb world's perennial egomaniac and sore loser down a peg.

On The Colbert Report in the aftermath of Kanye's outburst this week, he thinks his long-running operation may have had something to do with the blowup Sunday.

Kanye West calls Swift with 'sincere apology'

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Kanye West called Taylor Swift with a "very sincere" apology Tuesday for interrupting her acceptance speech at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, Swift said.

West phoned Swift following her appearance on ABC's "The View" Tuesday, her publicist said.
Swift talked about it in a radio interview with ABC.
"Kanye did call me and he was very sincere in his apology," she said. "And I accepted that apology."
The apology came the morning after West, in an interview with Jay Leno, appeared to blame the pain of his mother's death two years ago for his "rude" behavior.
The rapper told Leno he would now "take some time off" to think about how he will "make it through the rest of this life."
West's appearance on the prime-time premiere of "The Jay Leno Show" capped a 24-hour period that began Sunday evening with him strolling down the red carpet at New York's Radio City Music Hall while gulping from a bottle of cognac.
The low-light came about an hour later, when West jumped onstage and grabbed the microphone from Swift as she accepted the Best Female Video award. West declared that Beyonce Knowles should have won.

"I immediately knew in this situation that it was wrong," West told Leno. "And it wasn't a spectacle, you know. It was actually someone's emotions, you know, that I stepped on and it was very, it was just, it was rude, period."
When Leno asked West what his mother would have thought of his behavior, he fell silent for more than a dozen seconds and appeared near tears. Leno pressed him again.
"Would she be disappointed in this? Would she give you a lecture?"
West gave a rambling, emotional answer:
"Yeah, you know, obviously, you know, I deal with hurt and, you know, so many, you know, celebrities, they never take the time off, and I've never taken the time off to really, you know, I just, music after music and tour after tour on tour, and I'm just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else's hurt."

West said he wasn't trying to justify his behavior, "because I was just in the wrong. That's clear."
"But I need to, after this, just to take some time off and analyze how I'm going to, you know, make it through rest of this life, how I'm going to improve," he said. "Because, I am a celebrity and that's something I have to deal with."
He said he would like to personally apologize to Swift, a 19-year-old pop-country singer.
"And if there's anything I can do to help Taylor in the future or help anyone, I want to live this thing. It's hard sometimes, so."
After his four-minute talk with Leno, West joined fellow hip-hop superstars Jay-Z and Rihanna to perform "Run This Town," a song they recorded together.
The timing of West's antics came at a good time for Leno, who embarked on a new era of his career Monday. After 17 years of hosting "The Tonight Show," Leno debuted his 10 p.m. weeknight talk show on NBC.
Apologies from celebrities behaving badly have boosted Leno's ratings.
In 1995, Leno enjoyed a ratings-grabbing moment when he asked actor Hugh Grant, "What the hell were you thinking?" Grant had been arrested two weeks earlier for public lewd conduct with a Hollywood hooker.
When Grant told Leno "I did a bad thing," it gave Leno's "Tonight Show" a viewership bump that has been credited with solidifying his lead over rival David Letterman in the late-night ratings war.
This is just the kind of "immediacy" Leno was talking about in a call with reporters last week.

NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- A train carrying Rahul Gandhi, the heir apparent of India's ruling Congress party, was pelted with stones Tuesday night, police said.

Gandhi was traveling on one of India's Shatabdi Express trains -- fully air-conditioned, speedy trains preferred mostly by India's wealthy and upper-class travelers. Gandhi's train was hit by stones -- and at least two windows were broken -- as it passed through a village en route to the capital of New Delhi from Punjab state, a spokesman for Haryana state police told CNN.
No injuries were reported.
The police spokesman, S.A.H. Zaidi, downplayed the attack on the train, insisting it was not aimed at the 38-year-old Gandhi, one of the most protected people in India.
"Maybe some children just hurled stones. His (Rahul Gandhi's) coach was not hit. There was no injury," Zaidi said.
But the stoning attack came as the Congress party, headed by Rahul Gandhi's Italian-born mother Sonia Gandhi, is trying to convince voters that its top leaders are cutting costs on their travel. The move, dubbed "austerity," comes in the wake of news reports that both the Indian foreign minister and his deputy had been staying in luxury hotels since their inauguration earlier his year.
The two ministers -- the junior one a former U.N. under-secretary-general -- claimed they paid the hotel bills from their own pockets. Nonetheless, they had to move out of their hotels apparently under pressure from their party, which faces elections in three key states next month.
In India, many of the country's lawmakers are perceived by some voters as living lavish lifestyles.
A number of them refuse to vacate their sprawling government villas despite losing designated positions.
With elections looming, Congress party leaders including Gandhi have launched the austerity drive, citing crippling drought in many parts of the country.
Gandhi, widow of slain former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, traveled economy class on a state-run Air India flight Monday, with her body-guard contingent accompanying her.

Resino: Luck was against us

Atletico Madrid's Abel Resino believes fortune favoured Apoel as the Rojiblancos had to settle for a home draw.
Atletico struggled to get going during the first half, and underdogs Apoel might have held a half-time lead if striker Constantinos Charalambides has made the most of his two great chances.

Vanessa Hudgens covers the upcoming issue of Allure, which hits newsstands on September 22.

This month marks the two-year anniversary of the actress' infamous naked picture scandal, a topic that Hudgens still cannot avoid in interviews. Look at what she told Allure when asked if she'd ever get naked in a movie:

"If I say that it’s something I’m not comfortable with, they’re like, ‘Bullsh-t, you’ve already done it.’ If anything, it makes it more embarrassing, because that was a private thing. It’s screwed up that someone screwed me over like that. At least some people are learning from my mistakes.”

Some people not named Ashley Greene, that is.

On a sweeter, more innocent note, Vanessa talked with the magazine about her mom:

“I love her to death. She’s the sweetest, happiest woman I’ve ever met, the most free-spirited, delightful person, and I aspire to be just like her. The older I get, the more I find myself like my mom. She just has the best outlook.”

A day after his much-vieweed outburst against Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards, celebrities from all industries have come together on Twitter and spoken out against the egotistical rapper.

To her credit, Beyonce was horrified, then reached out to Swift with a classy gesture after the incident. Yeah. Even she thinks Kanye West is a moron.
Moving on to more important things, girl was lookin' flat out FIERCE last night in that red dress. So vibrant. The plunging neckline and the shoes? Wow.

This is truly pathetic.Kim Kardashian is not satisfied with the money and attention she's garnered from... well, starring in a sex tape with Ray J.Instead, she's pimping out her body and her soul on behalf of an unhealthy weight loss product. Kim and sister Khloe are shilling non-stop for QuickTrim, a cleansing system that no certified doctor would ever recommend for a patient.Earlier today, Kim posted a message on her Twitter account that didn't even bother to hide the fact that she's nothing but a paid saleswoman for this dangerous product. She wrote:“Quick Trim DOES A BODY GOOD! Quick Trim baby! Go get it!”

D.A. Lets Shawne Merriman Off the Hook; Tila Tequila Still Clamoring For Attention

The San Diego District Attorney will not prosecute NFL star Shawne Merriman after Tila Tequila said he choked her and trapped her in his mansion last week.

"After a thorough review of the investigation into the incident at the home of Shawne Merriman, we have determined there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that any crime was committed," the D.A.'s office said.

"The case is now closed."

San Diego Chargers General Manager A.J. Smith said of his star player: "It's good news for Shawne. We're happy things worked out for him on the legal front."

Tila called 911 after allegedly being choked and restrained by the linebacker at his home in Poway, Calif., last Sunday, and had Merriman arrested for assault.

Police said Tequila, who was hospitalized, appeared to have been drinking heavily. Merriman said he was trying to restrain her from leaving and driving drunk.

Other witnesses corroborated Merriman's account, noting that Tila was both hammered and jealous of other girls Shawne wanted her to have a foursome with.

Legally in the clear after investigators apparently believed his version of events over Tila Tequila's, San Diego Chargers star Shawne Merriman is all kinds of fired up.

Whatever the reason, no charges were filed against Merriman. But Tila's rep is not letting the issue die (surprised?) lashing out at the D.A. via this statement:

"Tila Tequila is the victim of a violent crime. The San Diego D.A.'s decision not to press charges against Shawne Merriman for the battering of Tila Tequila demonstrates an unconscionable negligence in the discharging of their public duties."

"We strongly feel that justice has not been served in this matter."

"Obviously, The San Diego Charger's [sic] NFL franchise brings millions of dollars in revenue to the city of San Diego, and it appears clear that other interests are being served by the DA's office than the upholding of the law."

"A young woman was violently beaten and choked, and the physical evidence is both overwhelming and disturbing. Tila's account of these events has remained consistent from the beginning, while Merriman's story has changed repeatedly."

"Just because the DA made this reckless decision doesn't mean that justice will not be served. No one is above the law. Tila Tequila will immediately begin pursuing civil charges against Shawne Merriman and she will have her day in court."
