Paula Abdul Finally Speaks Out

For years on American Idol, Paula Abdul stood and cried over pretty much any performance.

A few weeks ago, though, the wacky singer had to "stand on my principle" when it came to an offer she considered to be unfair. As a result, she bid farewell to the show that resurrected her career.

In her first interview since the much-balleyhooed departured, Abdul opened up to TV Guide Magazine about the "amazing experience" of American Idol, as well as where she goes from here...

On Idol memories: I feel like I have been such a big, huge part of the success of the show from day one. I loved being able to be the artist's artist; being there from my point of view of knowing what it feels like to be vulnerable and to be out there wanting to achieve the most magical moment in a minute and thirty seconds. To be able to do that was an amazing experience and the show was wonderful for me in that regard.

On watching future seasons: Of course I will. I'll watch it as much as I can. I had some really unforgettable moments that hit plateaus for me and I'm very blessed to have been a part of what made television history.

On ever returning to the show: That's a hard question to answer right now. I mean, I don't think I can answer that right now.

On why she left: I stand on principle where many people stand on money. I'm a hard-working artist. I've lasted in this business for 23 years. And you can't do that unless you are good at what you do. I believe in myself and you have to have your own self respect. And sometimes decisions are very difficult to make, but I've always believed that at the core I'm a survivor. There's not one thing I've done that I've really set my mind to that I've failed at.

On what she'll do next: I definitely want to do a talk show because it would be different... I'm an actress. And it's time I started getting out there and doing it.

The Pussycat Dolls Break Up

Considering they've hated their lead singer for months, it's surprising it took so long for The Pussycat Dolls to call it quits.

But the all-girl group (who really hate it when you loosen up their buttons and then just front) has finally broken up, as Kimberly Wyatt told Great Britain's The Daily Mirror.

“The girls and I have just finished our huge world tour and are taking a break from the band and doing our own thing. We’re all concentrating on our own projects and deciding what the future will hold."

For Wyatt, that future will likely include more bashing of Nicole Scherzinger. We can't wait!

Khloe Kardashian Konfirms: Kopious Kourtney Kardashian Pregnancy Koverage to Kome!

Phew. That was klose.

For a few moments, we were afraid we'd never heard about Kourtney Kardashian and her pregnancy ever again.

How would we face each day without knowing whether or not the reality TV star has chosen to discover the gender of her baby? It's too unsettling a possibility to even konsider.

Fortunately, Khloe Kardashian told TV Guide that her sister's expecting state just happens to koincide perfectly with the upcoming season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The writers have made it a "a major part" of new episodes.

"It's going to be everything Kourtney is going through up until the birth," Khloe said. "It's more of a family situation anyway, so I think it's perfect timing."

It really is. It's almost as though Kourtney pulled her goalie on purpose in order to give the show fresh storylines.

Meanwhile, tonight's episode of Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami features a speed dating session Khloe sets up for her sister.

The reason?

"At first, I was trying to fight a lot more [to get Kourtney to date], but then I realized she was just so miserable without [Scott Disick]," Khloe said, referring to the man that has implanted his seed in her sister.

When did Khloe kome to this realization? When she turned the pages of the script for the next episode.

Jon Gosselin: The Hottest Thing in Vegas

The temperature exceeded 100 degrees ... in the shade.

But Jon Gosselin was still the hottest thing in Las Vegas.

The father of eight hosted a much-hyped Vegas pool party Saturday, with four friends and even his mother in tow. Soon enough, he was surrounded by women.

Moments after walking into his private cabana at MGM Grand's Wet Republic, several girls from the adjacent VIP area approached the celebrity gossip staple.

Jon seemed very much at ease, as he always does with gaggles of girls who for some reason throw themselves at him, ordering champagne, water and food.

The former Mr. Kate Gosselin said, "It looks like we'll have a good time" – as 2,000 people danced and boozed to the sounds of rock, hip hop and house music.

The King of Pimps holds court over the Land of Mediocre Girls.

Not everyone was happy to see him, though. As he walked on the red carpet at the casino, one bikini-clad woman stood on a railing and shouted, "Team Kate!"

Not a particularly creative diss, but effective.

Sporting shorts and a button-up collared shirt at the pool, Jon was spotted collecting a few phone numbers and mixing drinks for the scantily dressed women.

Hailey Glassman may not want to read this.

After his pool time, Jon Gosselin was seen dining at Craftsteak with his mother and friends, and later checking out Cirque du Soleil's Ká. Solid night in Vegas.

Gosselin is in town for the MAGIC fashion convention, which begins Monday.

As for the clothing line he and Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier are supposedly collaborating on, "Everything is still in the works," Jon said.

DJ AM: Devastated Over Hayley Wood Breakup

Sources say that the late DJ AM was "completely devastated" over a recent breakup with his girlfriend, Hayley Wood, with whom he split within the last week.

Hayley Wood was the one who called off their relationship.

"She ended it, and he didn’t want it to end. The breakup hurt him. He hadn't been in a good place lately. For the past week, he wasn't really around, he was just keeping to himself, and he was blowing people off," says a source.

Police found DJ AM dead in his New York apartment yesterday. The celebrity DJ, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, battled substance abuse in the past.

According to folks close to him, DJ AM was having a very hard time dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder from the plane crash he survived last September.

DJ AM has been sober for nine years, but sources say the breakup and the stress over the plane crash could have caused him to start using drugs again.

Prescription pill bottles and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found at the scene.

His body was removed last night. The friend who called 911 on Friday, prompting cops to enter Goldstein's apartment, told the dispatcher DJ AM had not been seen for two days, but people were still hearing from him Thursday.

Nick and Vanessa reportedlty started going at it just 20 minutes after arriving at the club with friends. She was even spotted on his lap at one point.

Anderson Cooper Bashes Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt Responds in Statement

Move over, Al Roker. Another TV journalist has taken hilarious, cheap shots at Heidi Montag and sparked venomous a retort from her slimy husband Spencer.

Earlier this week, CNN's Anderson Cooper called the recent Miss Universe performance by Heidi - whoever she is - a "fresh new way to embarrass herself."

With a clip of the epic crap-fest playing in the background, Cooper said he doesn't know "who this person is, nor why she is pretending to be a singer, nor why anyone should actually listen to her, but apparently, she's famous." Point, AC!

In reference to Heidi thanking God after her performance, Cooper said that "I really don't think God had anything to do with this. If God had time to work on this production, if this is the best God can do, then we're all in trouble."

He also noted that Heidi could not remember the lyrics to her own song ... while lip-synching. Classic, and quite true. But Spencer Pratt was not amused.

"Between health care, CIA interrogation techniques and the economy, I think it's funny how the Silver Coyote spent four minutes discussing someone who he claims to not know exists," Spencer said, even though it was closer to one minute.

Pratt added that Cooper is "trying to get a piece of Speidi's fame."

"It's our pleasure to help out anyone whose ratings are in need," Spencer said. "We appreciate every second people spend talking about the greatest performance in television history, which over a billion people saw."

EDITOR'S NOTE: A billion people did not watch. Six million did in the U.S., plus a few million more elsewhere. So he's right, give or take 990 million.

Why let facts stand in the way of a good press release, right Spencer? Then again, he also compared her to Michael Jackson earlier this week. Sigh.

How Does Jennifer Aniston Stay So Thin?

Given that it's Life & Style featuring her on the cover, we expected to read that Jennifer Aniston's "diet secrets" to involve some combination of the following:

• Crying over Brad Pitt all day
• Starving herself for weeks on end
• Eating cartons of ice cream while feeling particularly pathetic and useless at the ancient age of 40, then throwing up to purge the system

Surprisingly, the celebrity gossip magazine says that Jen keeps her amazing figure simply by "incorporating fitness and food" into her life in moderation.

What a concept. She may be lonely and sad, but she works out!

"Whenever she wants to look her best, Jennifer does this strict diet so she's able to lose five pounds in five days," an insider on the set of The Baster (a comedy Aniston recently filmed with Jason Bateman) tells the celeb gossip mag.

Jennifer Aniston has "the best body of her life." In other news, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart want a kid, while Jon and Kate's want the hell off TV.

"She did it during her past few films and doesn't find it hard at all. I saw her eat pasta only once!" But the yoga devotee - who flew her instructor, Mandy Ingber, from LA to her NYC set - always eats enough to keep energy high.

"She routinely gets up at 5 in the morning to run before filming starts," says the insider, who was on set with Jennifer as she filmed The Bounty in New Jersey.

"We were filming from 6 a.m. until almost 11 at night, and she had a great energy level the whole time. She was upbeat and smiley and never flubbed a line!"

Lindsay Lohan & Samantha Ronson: Movin' Out

Lindsay Lohan wants a change of address.No, really, she's moving. Apparently her current house being broken into twice and constantly surrounded by paparazzi lessened the appeal a bit.At the same time, Samantha Ronson happens to be moving, sick of constant celebrity gossip photographer presence outside her L.A. residence.

Could they be moving to a new place together?

Not likely. But they both are after more privacy and security. Lohan has movers coming today to transport all her stuff from her rented Hollywood Hills home to a more secure high-rise, which she planned even before her recent burglary.

Early on August 23, Lindsay Lohan came home to find a door off its hinges and a safe ripped out of the wall. The police are still trying to identify three suspects who were caught on tape by surveillance cameras ransacking the property.

Both halves of this troubled, quasi-lesbian couple are seeking new pads.

"I'm sorry i haven't been on in a bit," she Twittered on Wednesday. "My life has been kind of in shambles considering my house was broken into. i feel violated."

She's been violated quite a lot in recent years.

As for Samantha Ronson, she hasn't been robbed, but having to face a bunch of flashbulbs whenever she walks outside hasn't been particularly fun for her.

So she's moving out of her rented Hollywood Hills abode, which currently has a "for lease" sign hanging out front, and is headed for ... an L.A. high-rise!

Brooklyn Decker to Guest Star on Ugly Betty

Fresh off an appearance on Royal Pains, gorgeous Sports Illustrated model Brooklyn Decker is returning to TV with a guest role on Ugly Betty this fall.The wife of Andy Rodick will appear as Betty's co-worker Lexie. Decker, 22, sort of confirmed her appearance with this post on her Twitter this week:“Working on an amazing set!! Can’t tell you guys what it is... Just yet," she Tweeted. "But I can tell you I’m loving it and can’t wait to spill the beans!”The beans have been spilled. Sorry, B-Deck.She also appeared on one episode of Chuck last season. Here's hoping for lots more appearances on TV. Or at least more SI Brooklyn Decker pictures.

Melissa Rycroft: Jillian Harris is "Happy"

Despite her fiance's blatant, confirmed alleged cheating, Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski are doing fine and looking forward to moving on with their life together.
That's according to friend Melissa Rycroft, who competed for the love of Jason Mesnick along with Jillian (and eventual winner Molly Malaney) on The Bachelor.
"She is doing really well," Rycroft said at a Kenneth Cole charity event in L.A. "Jillian and Ed are happy, and I know she is excited to become a U.S. citizen."
"She's moving to Chicago [where Ed Swiderski lives] soon."
The buzz surrounding Ed in recent weeks has centered around dalliances with Lindsey Johnson and Bethany Steffen before, during and after The Bachelorette.
Basically, he two-timed both of them before Jillian was in the picture, then continued to text and have sex with at least one of them after he proposed.
There are even reports he left a Chicago bar with another woman last week.

Melissa Rycroft said she hopes Jillian Harris will marry Ed Swiderski.

"I absolutely do. I know they love each other, and I know they are planning a wedding, and I know she wants to marry him. I hope it works out for them."

"You know, granted it's not my business to comment, but Jillian's real life is fantastic," Melissa Rycroft stressed, diplomatically and perhaps untruthfully.

As for her own wedding to Tye Strickland, M-Ry said, "We had to register online!"

Tye added: "I think it's the coolest concept ever, of course! I have never registered for a wedding before. I can just go online and pick out all the stuff and people are going to buy it for me! We should get married more often!"

Hopefully for Melissa, this engagement actually takes, unlike her previous effort.

Taylor Swift is featured in the latest edition of Bliss magazine, a British publication that clearly has good taste in cover girls.The country music superstar dishes on love and courage inside the issue, among other topics. Here are excerpts from her interview:
On love: “Love is something that happens to really lucky people, but sometimes it’s not an exact fit. A lot of times you end up with people who maybe look the way you want them to, but don’t act the right way.”

On song lyrics: “Putting personal details into my songs is a fearless move because there is a lot to lose. Some people might be freaked out and not talk to me in case they might end up in a song. But if one person is able to relate to it, then it’s worth it.”

On being let down: “Most of my songs are about when I’ve built up someone in my mind, but they’ve turned out not to be the person I thought they were. At that point, for me, there is no turning back.”

Angelina Jolie to Brad Pitt: Sleep on the Couch!

Brad Pitt stars in the number-one movie in the country, Inglourious Basterds. But it sounds like he's in the doghouse at home, if one of the top supermarket tabloids is to be believed.
According to the rarely reliable OK! Weekly, Pitt and Angelina Jolie jetted to France this week to work on their relationship. It's not going well so far.“Brad has been adamant that Angie spend time with the family and focus on them with as much passion and energy as she does all her projects,” a source said, expounding on the issues at hand:"Right after they got to France, Brad found a box of scripts that Angie had said she wanted to read. She and Brad got into a fight over it. Angie stormed out of the room and went into the bedroom.”

Brad Pitt has packed on a few pounds. In less headline-worthy news, according to this magazine, Ryan Jenkins murdered Jasmine Fiore.

The argument was reportedly kept away from Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, Zahara and the twins, as Pitt made like everything was okay with his kids.

“He played video games with the boys all night and made breakfast for the family in the morning, including fresh grapefruit juice for Angie,” said this insider, who appears to have incredible access to the family.

Hey, if things don't work out with Jolie, we hope Pitt remembers: Jennifer Aniston is seeking a famous guy to date!

Ed Westwick Gay Kiss Coming to Gossip Girl

In the upcoming season of Gossip Girl, Ed Westwick's infamous character, Chuck Bass, will be kissing someone other than Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester).
That's not a huge surprise for a character who was once given his own CW promo set to Britney Spears' song "Womanizer." The shocker is who he kisses.
It's actor Neal Bledsoe.
That's right, a guy.
According to insiders, Chuck's gay kiss happens in the sixth episode this fall after he meets Josh Ellis, New York University’s head of freshman affairs.

Josh is in charge of selecting an incoming NYU student to deliver the freshman class speech. Blair, who got together with Chuck at the end of last season, is wants that position so badly that she pimps out the Basshole to the gay guy in charge.

The catch? All we know right now is that, apparently 1. there is a catch, and 2. we won't believe what Chuck says to Blair following the same sex lip-lock.

FYI, Chuck was gay or at least bi-curious in the Gossip Girl books, so perhaps it was only a matter of time. Still, this comes out of nowhere for TV Chuck.

Heidi Montag Reflects on Miss Universe Suck-Fest

It was possibly one of the worst live efforts in music history. But in the mind of Heidi Pratt, performing at Miss Universe ranks as high as her various weddings to Spencer, getting her fake boobs, nose, hair and lips, joining the cast of MTV's The Hills and other life highlights. She wrote on Twitter:

"Last night was one of the best nights of my life!!!! I had so much fun!" Heidi wrote on Twitter Monday morning. "My first performance. Thank you God!"

Heidi also Tweeted to Perez Hilton: "It only goes up from here!"

It certainly can't go down. Heidi's attempt to channel Britney Spears circa 2000 MTV VMAs could not have been more rough. Think bad lip-synching and bad dance moves - so bad that NBC edited her "song" down to two minutes.

"I grew up watching Britney Spears," Heidi Montag admits. "That's someone I inspire to be, you know, like, career wise. I think the world is ready for the next pop star and I'm ready to be the next pop galaxy, so here we go."

No, no we don't.

Please, Heidi and Spencer. We begrudgingly admire your enterprising nature, but just stick to what you do best - being attention whores, staging fake weddings, sucking copious amounts of face and spreading fake sex tape rumors about LC.

Katie Price Urged to Dump Alex Reid Over "Violent, Aggressive Sex"

Katie Price's new boyfriend, Alex Reid, is not a popular fella among her family and friends, who say he's causing "immense damage to her public image." This implies Katie Price had a great public image to start with, which is a bit of a stretch. Or maybe Alex Reid, a cage fighter by trade, is just that bad. At issue in particular are violent sex scenes he filmed in a new movie. Close friends and business aides to the model known as Jordan - plus her estranged husband Peter Andre - are apparently appalled and outraged by pictures of Reid writhing around semi-naked on the set of the film Killer Bitch.

Price supposedly treats him like a personal sex slave, but no matter.

In one scene, Reid is said to simulate rape of a girl played by actress Yvette Rowland, putting his hands around her neck as if to throttle her. Icky stuff.

Katie Price has been dating Alex Reid since splitting with Peter Andre.

A friend of Katie Price revealed: “The pictures aren’t pretty. Kate was aware of the film and what it entailed but seeing it for herself didn’t go down well."

“It’s very seedy. A number of friends and advisors feel Alex is detrimental to her and her career. They desperately want her to leave him before it’s too late.”

Last night a friend of Peter Andre: “Pete’s outraged by this new low. He thinks it’s disgusting and can’t believe his children are spending time with this man.”

He has been playing happy families with her 4-year-old son Junior, daughter Princess, 2, and 7-year-old Harvey from her relationship with Dwight Yorke.

Lindsay Lohan: Burglarized!

Perennial Father of the Year candidate and new Jon Gosselin BFF Michael Lohan called the LAPD early this morning to report a break-in at Lindsay's house.

Michael claims a safe was ripped off the wall and a couple of watches were taken from Lindsay Lohan. Michael also believes it's "an inside job" since the people that work for his anorexic waif daughter "failed to turn the alarm on."

"I am not going to put up with individuals violating my family," Michael said, ironically since he spent several years in prison for fraud, was estranged from his own kids for some time, and is generally one of the shadier characters around.

"Lindsay is a charitable, generous person that always gives," he continued, also ironically since we all know what Lindsay gives with astounding frequency.

"This is a personal violation and it has got to stop."

LIL-OH-NO: People keep ransacking the crap out of Lindsay Lohan.

A source on scene says that three men were captured by surveillance video breaking into Lindsay's house in the Hollywood Hills. Lindsay came home early this morning (3 a.m., natch), discovered the break-in and called ... Michael.

LAPD officers are currently on the scene investigating. Michael says that in addition to the safe being ripped out of the wall, bags, shoes and jewelry were taken as well.

The police have yet to officially confirm these or any details.

Lindsay Lohan's house was also broken into in May. The suspects were captured on surveillance video and left after presumably being scared by the alarm.

Mom Dina Lohan said Lindsay was planning to move even before last night's break-in occurred: "[sister Ali Lohan] and Linds just left me in New York, and left people in charge to pack, as we are moving her to a safer place."

Ryan Jenkins Still at Large in Canada; Megan Hauserman "Devastated" By Events

The accused murderer of Jasmine Fiore, Ryan Jenkins, remains on the run from the law and was described as "cool, calm and collected" by someone who saw him (and had no idea he was a fugitive) the night he escaped to Canada.

According to TMZ, Ryan Alexander Jenkins docked his boat in Whatcom County, Wash., before a short walk to the Canadian border. He spoke with a man who had no clue Jenkins was on the run, and later said he showed "no sign of remorse."

Police believer Jenkins murdered wife Jasmine Fiore two Fridays ago in Orange County, Calif. Her dismembered body was found in a suitcase in a dumpster.

Unfortunately, reports of his arrest late Friday night were premature and false.

Law enforcement sources say they have a "reason to believe" Jenkins' parents have been helping him in Canada. A source says he enlisted their help before anyone knew that Jasmine Fiore was killed ... but they may still be aiding him.

The parents are divorced, live in separate cities in Canada and are believed to have "tremendous" financial means. Ryan Jenkins himself was a millionaire real estate developer, having recently competed on VH1's Megan Wants a Millionaire.

Speaking of that show, it was abruptly yanked off the air in light of Ryan being wanted for murder. He married Jasmine Fiore in March, having met her just days after his dismissal by its leading lady, Megan Hauserman (above).

The news of the last week has left Megan Hauserman reeling.

"Megan is devastated," a close friend says of the reality star. "She got to know Ryan through her show, and she is shocked and saddened by the week's events."

Milla Jovovich and Paul Anderson got married at their Beverly Hills home Saturday night. Congratulations to the actress and her director husband!

Will Miss USA Kristen Dalton Win Miss Universe?

Following lots of important questions, crucial bikini poses and a dreadful live singing performance by Heidi Montag, Dayana Mendoza will formally cede her crown as the 2009 winner of the Miss Universe pageant is named on Sunday night.

Representing America will be Miss USA Kristen Dalton.

Contrary to popular belief, Carrie Prejean did not win the Miss USA pageant, Kristen Dalton did. Prejean finished second, then was later stripped of her crown as Miss California after flaking on her contract (and being stripped of her top).

Therefore it is Kristen Dalton, 22, hailing from the great state of North Carolina, who will be competing Sunday night at the Atlantis in the Bahamas.

She's a worthy competitor, to say the least ...

Can she become the first American winner of the Miss Universe title since 1997? The odds are slim, if only because more than 90 girls competing, as Donald Trump (who bought the Miss Universe Organization in 1996) mentioned on The Late Show.
